MARYLAND, That new Section 3(9) be and it is hereby added
to Article 73B — Pensions, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) to
read as follows:

Article 73B — Pensions

3.

(9) IN DORCHESTER COUNTY ANY EMPLOYEE [[ENTITLED
TO RECEIVE BENEFITS UNDER THE]] WHO IS NOT A MEMBER OF
THE COUNTY'S GENERAL [[PENSIONS]] PENSION AND RETIREMENT
PROGRAM MAY PARTICIPATE IN THE STATE RETIREMENT SYSTEM.
ANY COUNTY EMPLOYEE WHO IS NOT PRESENTLY COVERED BY THE
STATE RETIREMENT SYSTEM MAY ELECT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE
STATE RETIREMENT SYSTEM AND PURCHASE CREDIT FOR SERVICE
BEFORE JOINING BY PAYING THE RESPECTIVE CONTRIBUTION DUE
[[AND]] . THE COUNTY SHALL CONTRIBUTE ITS RESPECTIVE
PORTION OF THE CONTRIBUTION DUE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.

AN ACT concerning

Domestic Servants — Eligibility for Workmen's
Compensation Benefits

FOR the purpose of adding certain domestic servants to
the list of employees eligible to receive workmen's
compensation benefits; eliminating certain domestic
servants from the list of employees not eligible to
receive those benefits; changing the classification
of certain other employees not eligible to receive
those benefits; and renumbering where appropriate.
