SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.

AN ACT concerning

Public Libraries — Capital Budgets

FOR the purpose of having requests for capital
expenditures of the Regional and State Library
Resource Centers prepared by the State Department of
Education and submitted through the Department of
State Planning for inclusion in the Governor's
Capital Budget.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 168(d) and 169(a) (9) of Article 77
— Public Education, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1969 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and it
is hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

(d) [The state Department of Education may include
in its budget request such sum or sums as may in its
judgment be required for capital expenditures for
improvements of existing facilities, additions to
existing facilities or new facilities including furniture
