AN ACT concerning
St Mary's County — Economic Development Commission
FOR the purpose of changing the number of members of the
Economic Development Commission in St. Mary's
County, eliminating certain restrictions on the
appointment of commissioners; changing the tenure
dates of the commissioners; establishing an annual
salary for the chairman of the commission; providing
for filling vacancies on the board within a certain
time; requiring that a member of the Board of County
Commissioners shall serve on the commission;
permitting a majority of the members of the
commission to call meetings; providing for hiring
employees; repairing the commission to encourage
certain economic development; clarifying language;
and generally relating to the Economic Development
Commission of St. Mary's County.
BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,

Article 19 — Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1965 Edition and 1974 Supplement, as amended)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 31 of the Public Local Laws of St.
Mary's County being Article 19 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1965 Edition and 1974 Supplement,
as amended) be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
Article 19
31.
(a) The Economic Development Commission of St.
Mary's County is [hereby] created for the purpose of
advancing the general welfare of the people through
programs and activities to develop St. Mary's County's
natural resources and economic opportunities pertaining
