AN ACT concerning

Pharmacists — Prescriptions

[[FOR the purpose of repealing in their entirety
provisions prohibiting the sale or dispensing of
medications more than a certain number of days after
the date of the prescription; and generally
repealing provisions relating to that prohibition.]]

FOR the purpose of changing the number of days from the
date of issuance in which certain prescriptions may
be filled and generally relating to the requirements
of filling prescriptions.

BY repealing and re-enacting, with amendments.

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 254B of Article 43 - Health, of
the annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume
and 1974 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed and
re—enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Article 43 - Health

254B.

[[ [ ]]No pharmacist may sell or dispense any
medications on prescription presented more than [[thirty
(30) ]] 120 days from the date it was issued by a
physician or dentist, unless otherwise indicated by the
issuing physician or dentist. The physician or dentist
shall indicate on the prescription the date of issuance.
The pharmacist shall indicate on the prescription label
the date on which the prescription is filled.[[ ] ]]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.
