employees may arrest and return to the facility escaped
patients, and may be utilized to protect persons or
property at the facility.
SECTION 8. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section
18(f) of Article 59a - Mental Retardation, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1972 Replacement Volume and
1974 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
Article 59A — Mental Retardation

(f) The superintendent of any facility licensed by
or within the jurisdiction of the Administration may
select any employee to act as a law—enforcement officer,
and upon being commissioned by the Governor (in the
manner provided for employees of other organizations in
accordance with Article [23] 41 OF THE CODE, subtitle:
["Police"] "SPECIAL POLICEMEN"), such employees may
return any escaped mentally retarded person to the
facility from which he escaped, and may be utilized to
protect persons or property at the facility.
SECTION 9. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section
9 of Article 75A — Public Accountancy, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume and 1974
Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed and re—enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

Corporations meeting the applicable requirements of
the Professional Service Corporation Act (as provided in
(Article 23] TITLE 5, SUBTITLE 1 OF THE CORPORATIONS AND
ASSOCIATIONS ARTICLE of the [Annotated] Code [of
Maryland]) may engage in the practice of public
accounting in this State as certified public accountants
or public accountants as provided in § 7 of this article.
Such corporations and their stockholders shall be subject
to the same requirements as to registration and
enrollment, and the same penalties as to disciplinary
action, as would have been the case had the corporate
practice been conducted as a partnership.
