FOR the purpose of providing for the [[periodic]] a
certain inspection of hospitals and related
institutions and for reports; and generally
clarifying language.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,

Article 43 - Health

Section 561 (a)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 561(a) of Article 43 - Health, of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume
and 1974 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed and
re—enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Article 43 - Health

561.

(a) The Board shall cause each hospital and
related institution in the State of Maryland to be
periodically inspected for compliance with the rules and
regulations established by the Board[, as hereinafter
provided], THE INSPECTIONS SHALL TAKE PLACE ON AN
UNANNOUNCED BASIS [[AND AT LEAST TWICE ANNUALLY THESE
INSPECTIONS SHALL BE CARRIED OUT WITHOUT INCREASING THE
DEPARTMENT'S BUDGET ALLOCATION.]]. THE FINDINGS OF THE
INSPECTIONS SHALL BE REPORTED TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY
DURING ITS ANNUAL SESSION.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.
