of a felony, and upon conviction thereof shall be
[sentenced to the penitentiary] IMPRISONED for not [[less
than three nor]] more than ten years.

431.

Any person or persons who attempt to detain [any
girl or woman] ANOTHER PERSON in a disorderly house or
house of prostitution because of any debt or debts HE OR
she has contracted or is said to have contracted while
living in [said] THE house, shall be guilty of a felony,
and on conviction thereof shall be [sentenced to the
penitentiary] IMPRISONED for not [[less than two nor]]
more than [twelve] 12 years.

432.

Any person who shall knowingly transport or cause to
be transported or aid or assist in obtaining
transportation for, by any means of conveyance, through
or across this State, any [woman or girl] PERSON for the
purpose of prostitution, or with the intent and purpose
to induce, entice or compel [such woman or girl] THE
PERSON to become a prostitute, shall be deemed guilty of
a felony, and upon conviction thereof shall be [sentenced
to the penitentiary] IMPRISONED for not [[less than three
nor]] more than ten years; any person who may commit the
crime in this section mentioned may be prosecuted,
indicted, tried and convicted in any county or city in or
through which he shall so transport or attempt to
transport [any woman or girl aforesaid] THE OTHER PERSON.

[[SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That
Section 18 of Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and
1974 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That new
Section 18 be and it is hereby added to Article 27 —
Crimes and Punishments, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) to read as
follows:

Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments

18.

(A) ANY PERSON WHO, WHILE LAWFULLY MARRIED TO A
LIVING PERSON, ENTERS INTO A MARRIAGE CEREMONY WITH
ANOTHER PERSON IS GUILTY OF BIGAMY, AND UPON CONVICTION
SHALL BE SENTENCED TO IMPRISONMENT FOR NOT LESS THAN 18
MONTHS NOR MORE THAN 9 YEARS.
