SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That a new
Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland designated
"Corporations and Associations" be and it is hereby
enacted, to read as follows:

TITLE 1. GENERAL PROVISIONS.

SUBTITLE 1. DEFINITIONS AND APPLICATION.

1-101. DEFINITIONS.

(A)   IN GENERAL.

IN THIS ARTICLE, UNLESS THE CONTEXT CLEARLY REQUIRES
OTHERWISE, THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS
INDICATED,

the introductory clause to Art. 23, §2.

The only changes are in style.

(B)   ADDRESS.

"ADDRESS" MEANS THE POST-OFFICE ADDRESS, AND
INCLUDES STREET AND NUMBER, IF ANY, COUNTY OR MUNICIPAL
AREA, AND STATE AND, IF OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES,
COUNTRY.

REVISOR's NOTE: This subsection presently appears as
Art. 23, §2(9).

The defined term is changed from "Post—office
address" to simply "address" as these terms
are made synonymous by definition. The term
"municipal area," which is defined in
subsection (o) of this section, is substituted
for the word "city."

The only other changes are in style.

(C)       ARTICLES OF TRANSFER.

"ARTICLES OF TRANSFER" MEANS ARTICLES OF SALE,
ARTICLES OF LEASE, ARTICLES OF EXCHANGE, OR ARTICLES OF
TRANSFER.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language
which is added to clarify and avoid
repetitiveness in the present law by including
articles of sale, lease, and exchange in the
meaning of the term "articles of transfer."
