Supplement) to read as follows:

Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments

11E.

EVERY INMATE CONVICTED OF ASSAULT ON A DIVISION OF
CORRECTION EMPLOYEE, REGARDLESS OF EMPLOYMENT CAPACITY,
SHALL BE SENTENCED TO A [[CONSECUTIVE MANDATORY MINIMUM
OF TWO YEARS. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISION OF LAW
TO THE CONTRARY, INCLUDING THE PROVISIONS OF § 643 OF
THIS ARTICLE]] SENTENCE TO RUN CONSECUTIVE TO THE
SENTENCE UNDER WHICH THE INMATE HAS ORIGINALLY CONFINED
AND THE SENTENCE MAY NOT BE SUSPENDED.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.

Baltimore County — Merit System

FOR the purpose of providing for the transfer of all
employees of the Baltimore County Board of
Supervisors of Elections from the local merit system
to the classified service of the State, without
further examination or loss of benefits, and
providing for credit for years of service.

BY adding to

Article 64A — Merit System

Section 9G(j)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1972 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 9G(j) be and it is hereby
added to Article 64A — Merit System, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1972 Replacement Volume and 1974
