FOR the purpose of providing for the issuance of club and
organization licenses to both fraternal and sororal
organizations, and clarifying language.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,

Article 2B — Alcoholic Beverages

Section 32(a)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1968 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 32(a) of Article 2B - Alcoholic
Beverages, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968
Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

Article 2B — Alcoholic Beverages

3 2.

(a) In Cecil County the board of license
commissioners [are authorized to] MAY approve the issue
of an additional license, to be known as a club and
organization license, covering "on sales" of beer, wine
and liquor to the members and to the guests of the
members of [such] clubs and organizations. The fee for
any such license [shall be five hundred dollars
($500.00)] IS $500 annually. [Such licenses shall]
LICENSES MAY be issued only to veterans' clubs and
organizations which own real estate in the county and
which are associated with a national veterans' club or
organization, to fraternal AND SORORAL organizations
which own real estate in the county and are associated
with a national fraternal OR SORORAL organization, to a
bona fide private golf and country club owning real
estate in the county and having a standard golf course
[thereon] of not less than [eighteen (18)] 18 holes, and
to a bona fide yacht club owning real estate in the
county and having a membership of not less than [one
hundred and fifty] 150 persons, not less than [fifty] 50
of whom own yachts, boats or other vessels.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.
