SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 3-904(d) of Article - Courts and
Judicial Proceedings, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1974 Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

Article — Courts and Judicial Proceedings

3-904.

(d) For the death of a [[PARENT,]] spouse [[or]],
minor child, OR PARENT OF A MINOR CHILD, the damages
awarded under subsection (c) are not limited or
restricted by the "pecuniary loss" or "pecuniary benefit"
rule but may include damages for mental anguish,
emotional pain and suffering, loss of society,
companionship, comfort, protection, marital care,
parental care, filial care, attention, advice, counsel,
training, guidance, or education where applicable.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall be construed only prospectively and shall not be
applied or interpreted to have any effect upon or
application to amy event or happening occurring prior to
the effective date of this Act.

SECTION [[2]] 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That
this Act shall take effect July 1, 1975.
