Section 126A through 126D

Article 9 — Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1969 Edition and 1972 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 13A be and it is hereby added
to Article 25 — County Commissioners, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1973 Replacement Volume and 1973
Supplement) to read as follows:

Article 25 — County Commissioners
13A.

IN CHARLES COUNTY, THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL
ADMINISTER THE RETIREMENT PROGRAM FOR VOLUNTEER FIREMEN
AND RESCUE SQUADSMEN, AS PROVIDED FOR IN SECTIONS 126A
THROUGH 126D OF THE CODE OF PUBLIC LAWS OF CHARLES COUNTY

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That new
Sections 126A through 126D be and they are hereby added
to the Public Local Laws of Charles County being Article
9 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1969
Edition and 1972 Supplement) to read as follows:

Article 9
126A.

THERE IS HEREBY ESTABLISHED A RETIREMENT PROGRAM FOR
QUALIFIED ACTIVE VOLUNTEER MEMBERS OF THE CHARLES COUNTY
VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANIES AND VOLUNTEER RESCUE SQUADS.
FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS SUBTITLE, AN ACTIVE VOLUNTEER
MEMBER IS DEFINED AS A PERSON WHO ACCUMULATED A MINIMUM
OF 50 POINTS PER CALENDAR YEAR IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
POINT SYSTEM SET FORTH IN SECTION 126D.

126B.

(A) ANY PERSON WHO HAS SERVED AS A MEMBER OF ANY
CHARLES COUNTY VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY OR CHARLES COUNTY
VOLUNTEER RESCUE SQUAD IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE THE
BENEFITS HEREINAFTER SET FORTH, PROVIDED THAT:

(1) THE PERSON IS CERTIFIED IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 126D TO HAVE SERVED AS AN
ACTIVE VOLUNTEER SUBSEQUENT TO DECEMBER 31, 1973.
