Deer — Accidental Killing by Motor Vehicle

FOR the purpose of enlarging the class of persons to whom
certain reports may be made regarding deer killed by
accidental collision with a motor vehicle.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,

Section 10-415(f)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1973 Volume)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 10-415(f) of Article - Natural
Resources, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1973
Volume) be and it is hereby repealed and re—enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

10-415.

(f) Accidental killing by motor vehicle. —Any
person who, while operating a motor vehicle on any
highway in the State, accidentally strikes and kills a
deer on the highway may have the deer if the person
produces visible evidence of collision with the deer to
any Natural Resources Police Officer, [or] State Law
Enforcement Officer, OR OTHER DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVE
OF THE SECRETARY. The provisions of this subsection shall
be applicable to deer killed by collision with a motor
vehicle at any time whether during the open season for
killing deer or during the legally closed season.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1974.
