AN ACT to repeal and reenact with amendments Section
43 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's
County, Maryland, 1963 Edition (being Article 17 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Prince
George's County", subtitle "Hospitals" to provide for a
Board of Directors for Prince George's General Hospital
who would establish policy for the day—to-day operation
of the Hospital, extended care facility, and nursing
home, and to provide for the financing of Prince George's
General Hospital consistent with Article 8 of the Charter
of Prince George's County by providing for the
establishment of an Enterprise Fund for the operating of
Prince George's General Hospital as a self—sustaining
public service enterprise.
SECTION 1- BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MARYLAND, That Section 43 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County,
Maryland, 1963 Edition, (being Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Md.), title "Prince George's County,
subtitle "Hospitals" is hereby repealed and reenacted
with amendments to read as follows:
Sec. 43—1. Grants and gifts received.
The [board of county commissioners] BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF PRINCE GEORGE'S GENERAL HOSPITAL [Prince
George's County] is hereby authorized and directed to
accept and/or receive grants or funds from the United
States Government and/or the State of Maryland and/or any
instrumentality of either, on such terms and conditions
as the [county commissioners] BOARD OF DIRECTORS may
determine.
The [board of county commissioners of Prince
George's County] BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF PRINCE GEORGE'S
GENERAL HOSPITAL is further authorized and directed to
accept from any person, firm, corporation, estate,
trustee, or other fiduciary, bequests, gifts, grants, and
devises of property real, personal, mixed, tangible, or
intangible, and use the same or the proceeds therefrom
for the maintenance and operation of said hospital.
