MONTGOMERY COUNTY

WORDS "DIRECTOR, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION" WHEREVER
REFERENCES ARE MADE TO THE WORDS "DIRECTOR" OR "DIRECTOR,
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS."

Sec. 9 A new Section 2—16J, Chapter 2, title
"Administration," subtitle "Reference to Chapter 106,
title 'Taxicabs' and to 'Director, Department of
Environmental Protection1" is hereby enacted to read as
follows:

2-16J. REFERENCE TO CHAPTER 106, TITLE "TAXICABS" AND TO
"DIRECTOR, DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION."

SECTION 2-49A, CHAPTER 2, TITLE "ADMINISTRATION," OF
THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY CODE 1965, AS AMENDED, IS HEREBY
AMENDED BY STRIKING THE WORDS "CHAPTER 106, TITLE
'TAXICABS'" FROM SUCH SECTION AND CHAPTER 106 IS HEREBY
AMENDED TO SUBSTITUTE THE WORDS "DIRECTOR" AND "DIRECTOR,
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION" WHEREVER THE WORDS
"DIRECTOR" OR "DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION,"
OR THE FORMER WORDS "DIRECTOR" OR "DIRECTOR OF INSPECTION
AND LICENSES" APPEAR.

Sec. 10. Effective date.

This Act shall take effect on the 76th day following
the date on which it becomes law.

Chapter 26

AN ACT to repeal, and re—enact, with amendments. Section
1.8 of Chapter 13 of the Laws of Montgomery County
1971, title "Publication of Legislation—Summaries,
Full Text and Council Proceedings," to provide that
the Secretary of the Council shall publish the title
or a summary of all laws and ordinances proposed
once a week for two successive weeks prior to
enactment followed by publication once after
enactment in at least one newspaper of general
circulation in the County, as required by Section 3,
Article XI—A, Maryland Constitution.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL FOR MONTGOMERY
COUNTY, MARYLAND, that -
