Authority for all of the above positions except the
Secretary to the County Council and the County Auditor.
The officers shall serve at the pleasure of the
appointing Authority; provided, however, that the County
Solicitor appointed by the County Executive in accordance
with the provisions of the Howard County Charter shall be
subject to confirmation by the affirmative vote of a
majority of the members of the Council as elected in 1970
and each four years thereafter.
Section 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED BY THE COUNTY
COUNCIL OF HOWARD COUNTY, MARYLAND, that this Act shall
take effect sixty (60) days after its enactment.
This Bill, having been approved by the Executive and
returned to the Council stands, enacted on October 2,
1973.
Council Bill No. 56
AN ACT to repeal and re—enact with amendments Section
22.101 of the Howard County Code, Title "County
Seal." And further declaring this to be an
emergency measure.
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
HOWARD COUNTY, MARYLAND, that Section 22.101, Title
"County Seal" of the Howard County Code be repealed and
re—enacted with amendments, to read as follows;
Section 22.101 - County Seal
[A. The County Seal of Howard County shall be
displayed on the wall of the County Council Hearing room,
[Court House] Ellicott City, Maryland.
B. An exhibit of the County Seal, reproduced in
color and in black and white, will be displayed for
public perusual in the Office of the County
Administrator.
C. Surrounding the [heraldry] SEAL shall be the
words "Howard County, Maryland." Whenever the seal is
reproduced in color, the colors of the [heraldry] SEAL
shall be: the sky, PRUSSIAN MEDIUM blue; the wheat sheaf,
OCHRE MEDIUM yellow. The farming implements on either
side of the sheaf of wheat are: IVORY BLACK DILUTED GRAY
