shall note the same upon his books and upon the receipts
given for taxes so paid.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section
17-204 of said Code, Title and Subtitle be, and it is
hereby repealed, and that new Section 17—204 be, and it is
hereby enacted, in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of
the Section repealed, and to read as follows:

Section 17-204

ANY REAL PROPERTY COMPLETED DURING THE PERIOD AFTER
JULY 1 IN ANY YEAR, AND THROUGH JANUARY 1 IN THE NEXT
SUCCEEDING YEAR, OR OTHERWISE FIRST ADDED TO THE TAX
ROLLS DURING THIS PERIOD, IS SUBJECT TO THE PAYMENT OF
PROPERTY TAXES FOR THE SIX (6) MONTHS BEGINNING ON THAT
JANUARY 1 AND ENDING ON THE NEXT SUCCEEDING JUNE 30, THE
TAXES FOR THESE SIX (6) MONTHS SHALL BE COMPUTED BY USING
THE ASSESSED VALUATION OF THE PROPERTY AT ONE-HALF (1/2)
THE CURRENT ANNUAL TAX RATE. TAXES IMPOSED FOR THESE SIX
MONTHS ARE DUE AND PAYABLE AS OF THE SPECIFIED DAY OF
JANUARY 1, OR AS OF THE DAY A TAX BILL THEREFOR WAS OR
REASONABLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECEIVED OR AVAILABLE,
WHICHEVER IS THE LATER DAY. NO INTEREST OR PENALTIES MAY
BE CHARGED OR COLLECTED ON ANY TAXES UNTIL AT LEAST
THIRTY (30) DAYS AFTER THE BILL FOR THE TAXES HAS BEEN
MAILED OR MADE AVAILABLE. FROM AND AFTER APRIL 1, SAID
TAXES ARE OVERDUE AND IN ARREARS, AND THEY SHALL BEAR
INTEREST AT THE RATE OF TWO-THIRDS OF ONE PERCENTUM (2/3
OF 1%) FOR EACH MONTH OR FRACTION THEREOF UNTIL PAID.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this
Ordinance shall take effect forty—five (45) days from the
date it becomes law.

AN ORDINANCE to repeal Section 10-302 of the Anne Arundel
County Code (1967 Edition and Supplements), Title
10, "Fire Protection", Subtitle 3, "Volunteer
Firemen's Service Award Program", as last amended by
Bill No. 115-73, and to enact new Section 10-302 in
lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the section
repealed, and to add new Section 10—306(8) to said
Code, Title and Subtitle, to follow immediately
after Section 10—306(7) thereof, to authorize
certain credits to the Volunteer Firemen's Service
Award Program for certain disabled volunteer
