THE SALARIES OF THE REGISTERS SHALL BE PAID
SEMIMONTHLY FROM THE FEES AND RECEIPTS OF THE OFFICE,
AFTER DEDUCTING THE EXPENSES OF THE OFFICE. EXPENSES
INCLUDE SALARIES OF DEPUTIES AND CLERKS, BOOKS,
STATIONERY, OFFICE SUPPLIES, AND OTHER NECESSARY AND
CUSTOMARY EXPENSES OF DOING BUSINESS.

(E) DEFICIENCY OF RECEIPTS.

IF THE FEES AND RECEIPTS OF THE OFFICE ARE
INSUFFICIENT IN ANY MONTH TO PAY ALL OR A PART OF THE
EXPENSES OF THE OFFICE AND AUTHORIZED SALARY OF A
REGISTER, THE DEFICIENCY SHALL BE DEDUCTED BY THE
REGISTER FOR THAT MONTH, FROM THE TAXES DUE THE STATE
COMPTROLLER FROM THE OFFICE FOR THAT MONTH. WRITTEN
AUTHORITY FOR THE DEDUCTION SHALL BE FIRST OBTAINED FROM
THE STATE COMPTROLLER. IN THE EVENT THAT TAX COLLECTIONS
FOR THE MONTH ARE INSUFFICIENT, THE COMPTROLLER SHALL
MAKE UP THE DEFICIT FROM FUNDS PROVIDED IN THE STATE
BUDGET FOR THIS PURPOSE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 93, §2-205. It is increased from three
to five subsections. The only changes are in
style and language.

2-206. ENUMERATION OF FEES.

(A)   FEES.

THE REGISTERS OF WILLS ARE ENTITLED TO CHARGE AND
COLLECT FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF THEIR DUTIES THE FEES IN
THIS SECTION.

(B)   TAKING PROBATE.

FOR TAKING PROBATE OF WILLS, ENTERING THE NAMES,
NECESSARY OATHS INCLUDING AND GRANTING LETTERS
TESTAMENTARY, TAKING, FILING, AND RECORDING BOND, ISSUING
WARRANT TO APPRAISERS AND ADMINISTERING THE NECESSARY
OATHS TO THE PERSON OR PERSONS TO WHOM LETTERS MAY BE
GRANTED, INCLUDING SEALS TO LETTERS AND WARRANTS TO
APPRAISE.............................................$7.50

(C)   ENTERING PAPERS.

FOR ENTERING ON THE ESTATE DOCKET, PAPERS FILED IN
AN ESTATE[[,]] SO THAT THE DOCKET WILL SHOW A COMPLETE
LIST OF INCIDENTS CONNECTED WITH THE ADMINISTRATION OF
EACH ESTATE.........................................$3.50

(D)   ELECTION OF SPOUSE.
