—27.4. Protection of town property

The town may do whatever may be necessary to protect
town property and to keep all town property in good
condition.

63—28. General provision
-28.1. Oath of Office

(a)    Oath required

Before entering the duties of their offices the
Mayor, the councilmen, the Clerk—Treasurer, the judges
and clerks of elections and all other persons elected or
appointed to any office of profit or trust in the town
government shall take and subscribe to the oath of
affirmation as set forth in Article 1, Sect. 6 of the
Constitution of the State of Maryland.

(b)    Before whom taken and subscribed

The Mayor and Council shall take and subscribe to
this oath or affirmation before the Clerk of the Circuit
Court for the County or before one of the sworn deputies
of the Clerk. All other persons taking and subscribing
to the oath shall do so before the Mayor or Election
Judges, as the case may be.

(c)    Official bonds

The Treasurer and such other officers or employees
of the town as the Council or this Charter may require
give bond in such amount and with such surety as may be
required by the Council. The premiums on such bonds
shall be paid by the town.

(d)    Seal

The Mayor and Council shall have the power to make
and use a common seal.

63—29. Change of Hards Boundaries — Annexation

The Council shall have power by ordinance to
establish, change or relocate the boundaries of existing
wards and to establish, change and relocate boundaries or
new or additional wards created either by annexation of
territory to the town or by the division of a ward or
wards.
