RESOLUTION NO. 50

A Resolution of the Mayor and City Council
of Pocomoke City amending §C—36 of the
Charter of Pocomoke City entitled "Conduct
of Elections" so as to authorize and direct
the Board of Supervisors of Elections to
cancel the election for any office for which
there is no contest and to certify as elected
the candidate therefor.

SECTION 1. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF
POCOMOKE CITY that §C-36 of the Charter of Pocomoke City
entitled "Conduct of Elections" be and the same is hereby
amended by adding thereto the following:

IN THE EVENT THERE IS NO CONTEST FOR ANY
OF THE OFFICES FOR WHICH AN ELECTION SHALL BE
PROPER, THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ELECTIONS
ARE AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED TO CANCEL THE
ELECTION WITH RESPECT TO SAID OFFICE OR
OFFICES AFTER GIVING PUBLIC NOTICE THEREOF BY
PUBLICATION FOR TWO SUCCESSIVE WEEKS IN A
NEWSPAPER OR NEWSPAPERS HAVING GENERAL
CIRCULATION IN THE CITY, AND TO CERTIFY AS
ELECTED THE CANDIDATE OR CANDIDATES THEREFOR
WHO HAVE FILED A VALID CERTIFICATE OF
NOMINATION PURSUANT TO §C-34 OF THE CHARTER.

SECTION 2. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of
Pocomoke City that this Resolution shall take effect upon
its approval by the Mayor.

RESOLUTION NO. 51

A Resolution of the Mayor and City Council
of Pocomoke City amending §C—65 of the Charter
of Pocomoke City entitled "Purchasing and Con-
tracts" directing the city manager to secure
written contracts on all expenditures above
$1,000.00.

SECTION 1. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF
POCOMOKE CITY that §C-65 of the Charter of Pocomoke City
