Resolution shall have been published; and

2. Return receipts of the mailing referred to in
the aforegoing Sections and shall further
complete and execute the Certificate of effect
attached hereto.

RESOLUTION NO. 4th of 1973

A RESOLUTION of the City of Laurel Adopted Pursuant
to the provisions of Article 23A, Sections 11 through 18,
titled Corporations - Municipal, subtitled Charter
Amendments, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1973
Replacement Volume) to amend the Charter of the City of
Laurel, Section 12(b) entitled "Elections — General
Provisions — Date" to provide for the election of the
Mayor every four years commencing with the election to be
held on the third Monday in March, 1974.

THEREFORE: BE IT ENACTED AND ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR
AND CITY COUNCIL OF LAUREL, MARYLAND, that Section 12(b)
of the Charter of the City of Laurel, entitled "Elections
— General Provisions — Date" be amended by the deletion
of the figures "1962" and word "two" and substitution in
lieu thereof respectively of the figures "1974" and word
"four" when referring to the election of the Mayor, and
by the exclusion of the words "also" and "said" when
first used regarding the election of the Councilmen, to
read as follows:

Section 12. General Provisions,
(b) Date.

The said qualified voters shall on the third Monday
in March, [1962] 1974 and every [two] FOUR years
thereafter, at such centrally located place within the
said Town of Laurel as the Mayor and City Council may
designate, vote for one person as Mayor of said Town of
Laurel, to serve for [two] FOUR years from the fourth
Monday in March [1962] 1974 and until the qualification
of his successors; and the said voters shall [also] on
the [said] third Monday in March, 1962, and every two
years thereafter, vote for five persons as members of the
City Council of Laurel, to serve for two years and until
their successors have qualified, one of which shall be
chosen from the said town at large, and one from each of
the four wards in said town, the representatives of the
wards to be domiciled in the ward each shall be chosen to
