times from February 1, 1973, and a copy of the resolution
and a description of the area to be annexed were posted
in the Municipal Office; and

WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on March 9, 1973,
at the Municipal Building on High Street in Hancock;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND
COUNCIL OF HANCOCK that:

Section 1. The resolution to annex dated December
4, 1972, is hereby enacted pursuant to the authority and
procedures in Section 19 of Article 23A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), as amended.

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect on
April 23, 1973.

ENACTED: March 9, 1973

AGREEMENT TO ANNEX

THIS AGREEMENT, Made this 1st day of December, 1972,
by and between Genuine Parts Company, a corporation of
the State of Georgia and A. Hart McKinley, Jr. and Janet
Morgret McKinley, his wife, hereinafter referred to as
property owners, and the Mayor and Council of Hancock, a
Municipal Corporation of the State of Maryland,

THAT WHEREAS the parties to this Agreement are the
sole owners of four tracts of real estate adjoining the
present corporate boundary of the Town of Hancock, which
property is hereby described as follows:

TRACT 1: Situate along both sides of Lashley Road
and lying between Interstate Route No. 70 and the
Tonoloway Creek, in Election District No. 5, Washington
County, Maryland, and being more particularly described
as follows: Beginning at a post standing at the end of
the twelfth line of the deed from George B. Hess to the
Mayor and Council of Hancock dated May 1, 1962, and
recorded in Liber No. 379, folio 510, one of the Land
Records of Washington County, and running thence
reversing said line and a portion of the eleventh line of
said deed North 49 degrees 39 minutes East 731.42 feet to
a tree and wire, and North 71 degrees 07 minutes East
41.36 feet into said Lashley Road at the end of the third
line of the deed from Julia B. Lynn and husband to the
Mayor and Council of Hancock dated February 9, 1963, and
recorded in Liber No. 390, folio 154, another of said
