DENTON

"Corporations—Municipal", to enlarge the corporate
boundaries of Denton, Maryland.

SECTION 1. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSIONERS OF
DENTON, that the corporate boundaries of the Town of
Denton be enlarged by annexation into the Town of Denton,
the following tract of land and premises which are
contiguous to and adjoining to the existing corporate
areas of said Town, and described as hereinafter set
forth; consent to the said resolution having been
heretofore filed with the Commissioners of Denton by more
than twenty—five percentum (25%) of the persons who
reside in the area to be annexed, and who are registered
as voters in the County Election, and from owners of not
less than twenty—five percentum of the assessed valuation
of the real estate located in the area to be annexed;
said lands being particularly described as follows:

Beginning for the outbounds of the same at a point
on the line between the lands of W. Henry Brown and the
lands of John J. Smith and wife, described in a deed from
William S. Orme, Widower, to John J. Smith and Esther R.
Smith, his wife, recorded in Liber H.C.B. No. 152 Folio
697, one of the Land Record Books for Caroline County, at
the southeast corner of the said Smith lot and running
thence north 80 degrees 30 minutes west 206 feet with the
Smith line and the boundary line of the Town of Denton to
a concrete marker on the east side of Suzanne Street
(formerly called Pine Street); thence south with the east
side of Suzanne Street south 9 degrees 30 minutes west
250 feet to the northwest corner of the Francis Holsinger
property; thence with the said Holsinger line south 80
degrees 30 minutes east 203 feet to the lands of Helen M.
Brown; thence with said Brown lands north 9 degrees 30
minutes east 250 feet to the place of beginning,
containing about 50,750 square feet of land, more or
less.

The conditions and circumstances applicable to said
annexation proposal are as follows: (1) That all persons
residing in the area to be annexed and their property,
shall be added to the corporate boundaries, generally
subject to the provisions of the Charter of the
Commissioners of Denton, a Municipal Corporation.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the date
of the introduction of this Resolution is October 4,
1971, and that a public notice of said Resolution be
published in the County Record, a newspaper of general
circulation in the Town of Denton and in the area to be
annexed, once a week for four (4) consecutive weeks,
briefly and accurately describing the proposed change,
and conditions and circumstances thereto, and setting a
public hearing on Monday, November 29th, 1971, at 3:00
