city, an individual must also fulfill the requirements
specified above for an elective officer by the final
closing dates for the filing of petitions. The
Supervisors of Election shall cause to be published, in
appropriate manner to give general publicity, the names
of the candidates and the positions to which they aspire.
Any candidate wishing to withdraw his nominating petition
must do so no later than twenty—five (25) days, including
Sundays and holidays, prior to the day of election.

Provided, however, that the Mayor give notice by
posting and publication of this resolution and that a
complete and exact copy of this resolution be posted at
the Municipal Building for at least forty (40) days
following its adoption and provided further that a fair
summary of the proposed amendment be published in a
newspaper of general circulation in the City of College
Park not less than four (4) times at weekly intervals
within a period of at least forty (40) days after the
adoption of the resolution containing the proposed
amendment, and provided further that the proposed
amendment shall become and be considered a part of the
municipal charter, according to the terms of the
amendment in all respects to be effective and observed as
such, upon the 18th day of April, 1973, unless on or
before the 8th day of April, 1973, there shall be
presented to the Mayor and Council of the City of College
Park, or mailed to it by registered mail, a petition for
referendum in conformity with the requirements of Article
23A, § 13(g), of the Annotated Code of Maryland.

Adopted this 27th day of February, 1973.

RESOLUTION 73-R-6

A Resolution to amend Article XII, § 28, of     the

Charter of the city of College Park, titled     City

Administrator, to delete the requirement, that the     City
Administrator reside within the City.

WHEREAS, the City of College Park is desirous of
eliminating the requirement that the City Administrator
reside within the City,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED this 27th day of
February, 1973, that Article XII, § 28, of the Charter of
the City of College Park, is hereby repealed and
reenacted with amendments as follows:
