MUNICIPAL CHARTERS

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, ENACTED AND ORDAINED by the
Mayor and Town Council of Brentwood, Maryland, the
foregoing Resolution and Ordinance be and the same is
hereby adopted this 19th day of February, 1973, by the
Mayor and Town Council of Brentwood, Maryland.

Charter Amendment 73—2
MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL OF BRENTWOOD, MARYLAND

A RESOLUTION and ORDINANCE to Repeal and
Re—enact with amendments Section 6—5 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Prince George's County,
Maryland, (1963 Edition), titled, "Brentwood," and
subtitled "Same; election, terms, compensation,"
being a part of the Charter of the Town of
Brentwood, Maryland, to raise the compensation of
the Councilmen from $25.00 a meeting to $37.50 a
meeting and to raise the compensation of Mayor from
$45.00 a meeting to $62.50 a meeting.

SECTION 1. BE IT RESOLVED, ENACTED AND ORDAINED BY
THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL OF BRENTWOOD, MARYLAND, that
Section 6—5 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County, Maryland, (1963 Edition), titled,
"Brentwood," and subtitled "Same; election, terms,
compensation," being a part of the Charter of the Town of
Brentwood, Maryland, be and the same is hereby repealed
and re—enacted with amendments to read as follows:

6—5. Same; Election, Terms, Compensation.

An election of officers shall be held on the
first Monday of May, 1969, by the qualified voters
of the town, who shall elect a Mayor, a Councilman
from the First Ward, a Councilman from the Second
Ward, and a treasurer, all of whom shall serve for a
term of two years. An election of officers shall be
held under this Charter on the first Monday of May,
1970, and the qualified voters of the town shall
elect a Councilman from the Third Ward and a
Councilman from the Fourth Ward, to serve for a
period of one year. An election of officers shall
be held under this Charter on the first Monday of
Way, 1971, and the qualified voters of the town
shall elect a Mayor, Treasurer, and a Councilman
from each of the Wards of the town, to serve for a
term of two years. At each successive biennial
