MARVIN MANDEL, Governor                       3161

the two penalty provisions.

Very truly yours,
/s/ Francis B. Burch
Attorney General

House Bill No. 1598 — State Police Salaries
AN ACT concerning

State Police — Salaries

FOR the purpose of providing that truck patrolmen shall
be compensated at not less than a certain pay grade.

May 31, 1974.

Honorable John Hanson Briscoe
Speaker of the House of Delegates
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill
1598.

This bill provides that truck patrolmen of the
Maryland State police shall be compensated at not less
than a certain pay grade.

Senate Bill 380, which was enacted by     the General

Assembly and signed by me on May 31, 1974,   accomplishes

the same purpose as House Bill 1598, in     addition to
correcting certain technical errors.

Therefore, it is unnecessary for me to sign House
Bill 1598.

Sincerely,

/s/ Marvin Mandel

Governor
