Record Keeping, Real Estate Commission and
Maryland Home—Improvement Commission

FOR the purpose of requesting the Real Estate Commission
and the Maryland Home-Improvement Commission to
institute systems of record retention which will
permit facile ascertainment of problem categories or
areas as denoted by the preponderance of public
input.

WHEREAS, The Maryland Home—Improvement Commission
and the Real Estate Commission have purview over areas of
interest that touch the lives of most citizens of this
State; and

WHEREAS, Numerous complaints and inquiries by the
citizens of this State are processed by these Commissions
on a daily basis; and

WHEREAS, The record keeping systems employed
precludes revelation of the major areas of abuse except
by a file-by—file search; and

WHEREAS, It would be   of invaluable   assistance to the

members of the General     Assembly of Maryland to have

readily available data as   to the major     areas of abuse;
and

WHEREAS, The direct beneficiary of this knowledge
would be the citizens of this State; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
the Real Estate Commission and the Maryland
Home—Improvement Commission institute systems of record
retention which will permit simple ascertainment of
problem categories or areas as denoted by the
preponderance of public inquiries and complaints; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be
forwarded to the Real Estate Commission and the Maryland
Home—Improvement Commission.
