AND IMPLEMENTING THIS SUBTITLE, PREPARE AND DISTRIBUTE
MATERIALS INFORMING THE PUBLIC OF THE REQUIREMENTS OF
THIS SUBTITLE AND THE REGULATIONS PROMULGATED THEREUNDER,
AND REQUIRE ALL PERSONS LICENSED TO SELL OR RENT BICYCLES
TO DISPLAY ON THEIR BUSINESS PREMISES INFORMATION
RELATING THERETO.

18-103.

(A)    FOR A PERIOD OF NOT MORE THAN 12 CONSECUTIVE
HOURS, ANY BICYCLIST MAY SECURE A BICYCLE TO A POLE,
METER, OR OTHER DEVICE LOCATED ON A PUBLIC SIDEWALK
EXCEPT:

(1)    TO A FIRE HYDRANT, POLICE OR FIRE CALL
BOX, OR TRAFFIC SIGNAL DEVICE;

(2)    TO ANY POLE, METER OR DEVICE LOCATED
WITHIN A BUS OR TAXI LOADING ZONE;

(3)    TO ANY POLE, METER OR DEVICE WITHIN 25
FEET OF ANY INTERSECTION;

(4) TO AMY POLE, METER OR DEVICE UPON WHICH
NOTICE HAS BEEN POSTED BY THE APPROPRIATE AUTHORITIES
FORBIDDING THE SECURING OF BICYCLES;

(5) TO ANY DEVICE WHICH WOULD THEN OBSTRUCT
OR IMPEDE VEHICULAR TRAFFIC OR PEDESTRIAN MOVEMENT.

(B)    ANY BICYCLE SECURED TO A PARKING METER IN
ACCORDANCE WITH SUBSECTION (A) MAY DO SO WITHOUT PAYMENT
OF THE USUAL FEES THEREFOR, IP THE BICYCLE IS ENTIRELY
REMOVED FROM THE BED OF THE STREET NORMALLY USED FOR
VEHICULAR PARKING.

18-404.

ANY PERSON, INCLUDING THE STATE OR ANY STATE AGENCY
OR A POLITICAL SUBDIVISION THEREOF, WHO OPERATES A
PARKING LOT OR OTHER FACILITY FOR THE STORAGE OF MOTOR
VEHICLES OR WHO RENTS SPACE FOR THE PURPOSE OF PARKING
MOTOR VEHICLES, SHALL PROVIDE FACILITIES OR SPACE
SUITABLE FOR THE PARKING OR STORAGE OF BICYCLES, AND
PROVIDE CARE AND PROTECTION FOR THE BICYCLES COMPARABLE
TO THAT PROVIDED FOR MOTOR VEHICLES, AT A PRICE
COMPARABLE TO THAT CHARGED FOR MOTOR VEHICLES.]]

BY repealing and re-enacting, with amendments,

Article 66 1/2 - Vehicle Laws

Section 1-104, 11-1103, and 11-1202 through

11-1206, inclusive
