the bonds issued pursuant to this Act can be net during
the ensuing taxable year from available County funds.
Upon appropriating available County funds for the payment
of principal and interest on said bonds, the County
Commissioners shall issue a resolution declaring that the
taxes required by this Section shall not be collected or
levied in any such ensuing taxable year.

SECTION 6. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That if any
portion (word, sentence, paragraph, proviso or section)
of this Act shall be held invalid for any reason, the
remaining provisions shall remain in full force and
effect, and such invalid portion shall be considered
severed and deleted from this Act.

SECTION 7. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1974.

AN ACT concerning

Creation of a State Debt — Baltimore City Zoo[[, Animal
Hospital and Teaching Center]]

FOR the purpose of authorizing the creation of a State
debt in the aggregate amount of [[Two Million, Eight
Hundred and Seventeen Thousand Dollars
($2,817,000)]] One Hundred and Twenty Five Thousand
Dollars ($125,000), the proceeds thereof to be used
for the development. of a master plan for the
Baltimore City Zoo [[and the construction of an
Animal Hospital and Teaching Center]]; providing
generally for the issue and sale of bonds evidencing
such loan.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Board of Public Works is hereby
authorized and empowered to issue a State loan to be
known as the "Baltimore City Zoo — Animal Hospital and
Teaching Center Loan of 1974", in the aggregate amount of
[[Two Million, Eight Hundred and Seventeen Thousand

Dollars ($2,817,000)]] One Hundred and Twenty Five

Thousand Dollars ($125,000).
