Annotated Code of Maryland

(1970 Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 3-825 of Article 66 1/2 - Vehicle
Laws, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement
Volume and 1973 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed
and re—enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Article 66 1/2 — Vehicle Laws
3-825.

Notwithstanding any provision of this part to the
contrary, registration plates of size and design as
determined in the discretion of the Commissioner shall be
issued for an annual fee of one dollar for [antique]
HISTORIC motor vehicles, INCLUDING PASSENGER VEHICLES,
MOTOR CYCLES AND COMMERCIAL VEHICLES, subject to the
following conditions:

[1. The term "antique motor vehicle" means any
motor car which is over 25 years old.] (1) THE TERM
"HISTORIC MOTOR VEHICLE", FOR PURPOSES OF THIS SECTION,
IS EITHER

(A)    A MOTOR VEHICLE WHICH IS MORE THAN 25
YEARS OLD AND HAS NOT BEEN SUBSTANTIALLY ALTERED FROM THE
MANUFACTURER'S ORIGINAL DESIGN; OR

(B)    A MOTOR VEHICLE RECOGNIZED BY THE
ADMINISTRATOR AS HAVING UNIQUE INTEREST OR HISTORIC
VALUE. IN MAKING SUCH DETERMINATION, THE ADMINISTRATION
SHALL GIVE SPECIAL CONSIDERATION TO MAKES OF MOTOR
VEHICLES NO LONGER MANUFACTURED, OR MAKES OR MODELS OF
MOTOR VEHICLES PRODUCED IN LIMITED OR TOKEN QUANTITIES
AND NO LONGER MANUFACTURED.

(2)    The owner of the cars shall prove ownership
thereof by a Maryland certificate of title.

(3)      The owner shall sign a certification
accompanying [his] THE REGISTRATION application that the
vehicle for which the registration plate is sought to be
issued will not be used primarily for the transportation
of passengers or goods over the public highways, but will
be maintained for use in exhibitions, club activities,
parades, tours, occasional transportation and similar
uses, but is not used for general daily transportation.

(4)    UNLESS THE PRESENCE OF EQUIPMENT SPECIFICALLY
