THE COMMISSION SHALL DIVIDE THE MONEY IN EACH
CATEGORY PRESCRIBED IN THIS SECTION SO THAT A PUBLIC
CAMPAIGN DONATION IS REASONABLY PROPORTIONATE TO THE COST
OF CAMPAIGNING FOR THAT OFFICE.

30-8. DISBURSEMENT OF PUBLIC CAMPAIGN DONATION.

(A)    IN A PRIMARY ELECTION.

BEFORE A PRIMARY ELECTION, THE COMMISSION SHALL
REQUEST THE COMPTROLLER TO DISBURSE A PUBLIC CAMPAIGN
DONATION TO A CANDIDATE'S TREASURER AS SOON AS IS
POSSIBLE AFTER RECEIVING THE INFORMATION REQUIRED BY
§30-3 OF THIS SUBTITLE AND AFTER THE COMMISSION HAS
CONCLUDED THAT THE CANDIDATE HAS COMPLIED WITH THE
PROVISIONS OF THAT SECTION. HOWEVER, NO PUBLIC CAMPAIGN
DONATION MAY BE PAID PRIOR TO THE FILING DEADLINE FOR
THAT PRIMARY ELECTION.

(B)    IN A GENERAL ELECTION.

BEFORE A GENERAL ELECTION, THE COMMISSION SHALL
REQUEST THE COMPTROLLER TO DISBURSE A PUBLIC CAMPAIGN
DONATION TO A NOMINEE IN THE GENERAL ELECTION WHO
REQUESTS IT, SATISFIES THE REQUIREMENTS OF §30-3(B) (3),
(4), AND (5), AND WHO RECEIVED A DONATION IN THE PRIMARY,
AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AFTER THE RESULTS OF THE PRIMARY
ELECTION ARE OFFICIALLY ASCERTAINED. ANY NOMINEE WHO DID
NOT RECEIVE A PUBLIC CAMPAIGN DONATION IN THE PRIMARY
ELECTION IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE THE DONATION ONLY AFTER
REQUESTING IT AND SATISFYING THE REQUIREMENTS OF § 30-3.

(C)    IN A SPECIAL ELECTION.

A CANDIDATE IN A SPECIAL ELECTION THAT INCLUDES BOTH
A PRIMARY AND GENERAL ELECTION SHALL HAVE A PUBLIC
CAMPAIGN DONATION DISBURSED TO HIM AS PROVIDED IN
SUBSECTIONS (A) AND (B). A CANDIDATE IN A SPECIAL
ELECTION NOT INCLUDING A PRIMARY ELECTION SHALL HAVE A
PUBLIC CAMPAIGN DONATION DISBURSED TO HIM AS PROVIDED IN
SUBSECTION (A).

(D)    UNOPPOSED CANDIDACIES.

THE COMMISSION MAY NOT REQUEST THE COMPTROLLER TO
DISBURSE A PUBLIC CAMPAIGN DONATION TO AN UNOPPOSED
CANDIDATE IN EITHER A PRIMARY OR A GENERAL ELECTION.

(E)    DISBURSEMENTS NOT TO EXCEED MONEY IN FUND.

THE COMMISSION   AND THE COMPTROLLER MAY NOT DISBURSE

TO ANY CANDIDATE A   PUBLIC CAMPAIGN DONATION IN EXCESS OF

THE MONEY AVAILABLE   IN THAT CATEGORY OF THE FUND, AS
PROVIDED IN $ 30-7.
