(1971 Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 1 of Article 10 — Attorneys at Law
and Attorneys in Fact, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1968 Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement) be and it
is hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

Article 10 — Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Pact
1.

No person, EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IS SECTION 14A OF
ARTICLE 27 OF THE ANNOTATED CODE [[OF MARYLAND PERTAINING
TO OFFICERS OR AUTHORIZED EMPLOYEES OF CORPORATIONS IN
THE PROCESS OF COLLECTION OF COMMERCIAL ACCOUNTS IN
DISTRICT COURTS WITHIN THIS STATE ]], shall practice the
profession or perform the services of an attorney at law
within this State without being admitted to the bar as
hereinafter directed; and any person who shall give legal
advice, represent any person in the trial of any case at
law or in equity including the trial of any case before
the District Court or any proceedings conducted in
orphans* courts of the State, except cases arising under
§§ 9—1 through 9—8, inclusive, of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Baltimore City (1969 Edition) or prepare
any written instrument affecting the title to real
estate, or give advice in the administration of probate
of estates of decedents in any of the orphans' courts of
this State, for pay or reward shall be deemed an attorney
at law for purposes of this article.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That new
Section 14A be and it is hereby added to Article 27 —
Crimes and Punishments, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
