(b) No bicycle shall be used to carry [more persons
at one time than the number for which] PASSENGERS UNLESS
it is designed [or] FOR AND equipped WITH A SEAT SECURELY
ATTACHED THERETO FOR EACH PASSENGER.

11-1204.

No person riding upon any bicycle, PLAY VEHICLE,
coaster, skateboard, roller skates, sled, or toy vehicle
shall attach it or himself to any vehicle upon a roadway.
HOWEVER, THIS PROHIBITION DOES NOT APPLY TO LOG SKIDS,
DRAGS, OR FARM SLEDS WHEN USED IN AGRICULTURAL OR
FORESTRY PRACTICES.

11-1205.

(a)   Every person operating a bicycle upon a roadway
shall ride as near to the right side of the roadway as
practicable, EXCEPT WHEN MAKING OR ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A
LEFT-HAND TURN, OPERATING ON A ONE-WAY STREET, OR WHEN
PASSING A STOPPED OR SLOWER-MOVING VEHICLE, exercising
due care when passing a [standing] vehicle [or one
proceeding in the same direction].

(b)    Persons riding bicycles [upon a roadway] IN A
PUBLIC BICYCLE AREA shall not ride more than two abreast
[[except on]] . [paths or parts of roadways set aside for
the exclusive use of bicycles] [[A STREET OR ROADWAY
BICYCLES SHALL BE RIDDEN IN SINGLE FILE.]] PERSONS RIDING
BICYCLES UPON A STREET OR ROADWAY SHALL RIDE IN SINGLE
FILE.

[[ (c) Wherever a usable path for bicycles has been
provided adjacent to a roadway, bicycle riders shall use
the path and shall not use the roadway. ]]

11-1205.1.

(A)    Notwithstanding any other provision of this
subtitle, no person shall ride a bicycle upon any [dual
lane highway] ROADWAY where the posted maximum speed
[limits] LIMIT exceeds [35] 50 miles per hour, or upon
any controlled—access highway EXCEPT UPON [[A]] AN
ADJACENT BICYCLE PATH OR WAY [[ADJACENT TO THE HIGHWAY]]
WHICH HAS BEEN APPROVED BY THE STATE HIGHWAY
ADMINISTRATION.

(B)    WHENEVER A USABLE PATH FOR BICYCLES OR PAVED
SHOULDER HAS BEEN PROVIDED ADJACENT TO A ROADWAY, BICYCLE
RIDERS SHALL USE THE PATH OR PAVED SHOULDER AND SHALL NOT
USE THE ROADWAY.
