majority of the votes cast in the election are "Against
Sunday Activities", then the provisions of this Act shall
be of no effect and shall be null and void.

SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That subject
to the provisions of Section 4 herein and for the sole
purpose of providing for the referendum therein required,
this Act shall take effect on July 1, 1974.

FOR the purpose of providing service credit in the
[[Teachers* Retirement System to certain teachers
who are about to retire]] Employees' Retirement
System for certain prior teaching service and prior
temporary and emergency employment with the State or
a participating municipality and providing for the
conditions for this prior service.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new [[Section 9(13)]] Sections 9(13) and
(14) be and [[it is]] they are hereby added to Article
73B - Pensions, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970
Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement) to read as
follows:

A MEMBER MAY RECEIVE IN THE YEAR IN WHICH HE RETIRES
SERVICE CREDIT IN THE RETIREMENT SYSTEM FOR OUT-OF-STATE
PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHING SERVICE, [[AND/]]OR NONPUBLIC
