2084                                                 LAWS OF MARYLAND                          [Ch. 617

When application for registration as a professional
engineer is made by an engineer—in—training who is
certified in this State, an additional fee [not to
exceed] OF twenty-five dollars [ ($25.00) ] shall be paid,
ten dollars [($10.00)[ of which shall accompany the
application and the remaining amount shall be paid upon
issuance of the certificate as a professional engineer.

(c)   The registration fee for professional land
surveyors shall [not exceed] BE thirty—five dollars
[($35.00)], twenty dollars [($20.00)] of which shall
accompany the application and the remaining amount shall
be paid upon issuance of the certificate.

(d)    The registration fee for a property line
surveyor shall [not exceed] BE twenty dollars
[($20.00) ], ten dollars [($10.00)] of which shall
accompany the application and the remaining amount shall
be paid upon issuance of the certificate.

[(e) A fee of five dollars ($5.00) shall accompany
the letter of intent of a trainee in land surveying and
shall be credited toward a subsequent application for
registration as a professional land surveyor.]

[(f)] (E) Certificates Of registration shall expire
on the last day of June following their issuance or
renewal, and shall be invalid after that date unless
renewed. It shall be the duty of the secretary of the
Board to notify by regular mail every person certified
hereunder of the date of expiration of his certificate,
and the amount of the fee required for its renewal for
one year. Such notice shall be mailed to the registrant
at his last known address at least one month in advance
of the date of the expiration of said certificate;
however, failure to receive such notice shall not prevent
the certificate from becoming invalid after the
expiration date. Renewal may be effected at any time
prior to July 1 by the payment of a fee [not to exceed]
OF ten dollars [($10.00)] for professional engineers and
ten dollars [($10.00)] for professional land surveyors
and five dollars [($5.00)] for property line surveyors.
Renewal shall be evidenced by the issuance of an annual
registration card, bearing the date of expiration and the
signatures of the chairman and secretary of the Board.
Upon failure of any registrant to renew his certificate
annually prior to July 1, as required above, his right to
practice shall be invalidated, but such certificate may
be renewed at any time within the next succeeding twelve
months upon the payment of a fee [not to exceed twenty
dollars ($20.00)] OF FIFTEEN DOLLARS for professional
engineers and [twenty dollars ($20.00)] FIFTEEN DOLLARS
for professional land surveyors and [ten dollars
($10.00)] SEVEN DOLLARS for property line surveyors.
