AN ACT concerning

Baltimore City Public School Employees —
Representative Elections

FOR the purpose of providing dates between which the
election is to be held to choose the exclusive
representative of a negotiating unit of public
school employees in Baltimore City.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,

Article 77 - Public Education

Section 160(e)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 160(e) of Article 77 - Public
Education, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969
Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

Article 77 — Public Education
160.

(e) The designation of an exclusive representative
shall be made upon the following basis:

(1) Where an employee organization certifies to the
public school employer that it has a membership
enrollment of at least thirty percent (30%) of the total
number of public school employees in a specified unit in
a county or Baltimore City, as of June 1 of the year in
which certification is made, such certification shall
constitute a request for recognition as exclusive
representative of all public school employees in said
unit in such county or Baltimore City.
