SECTION 12. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That all

matters committed by this Act to the discretion of the

Board of Public Works shall be determined by a majority
of said Board.

SECTION 13. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, if any
portion (word, sentence, paragraph, proviso or section)
of this Act shall be held invalid for any reason, the
remaining provisions shall remain in full force and
effect, and such invalid portion shall be considered
severed and deleted from this Act.

SECTION 14. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this
Act shall take effect June 1, 1974.

AN ACT concerning

Legal Holidays

FOR the purpose of changing the date on which certain
legal holidays are observed and providing that when
certain dates occur on Sunday, the Monday next
following shall be treated as a public holiday for
certain purposes; requiring banking institutions to
remain closed on these dates; and clarifying the
language therein.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 9, 11 and 12 of Article 13 -
Bills of Exchange and Promissory Notes, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume and 1973
Supplement) be and they are hereby repealed and
re—enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
