AN ACT concerning

Hall of Records — Death Certificates

FOR the purpose of permitting the extraction of certain
nonconfidential data from death certificates for use
by researchers at the Hall of Records, classifying
such data as unofficial, and providing that the use
of the data and copies of certificates are not a
violation of Article 43.

BY adding to

Article 43 - Health

Section 25(i)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1971 Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 25(i) be and it is hereby
added to Article 43 — Health, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement) to
read as follows:

Article 43 - Health
25.

(I) AT THE REQUEST OF THE HALL OF RECORDS
COMMISSION, THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND MENTAL HYGIENE,
BY LOAN OR OTHERWISE, SHALL PROVIDE TO THE COMMISSION
PHOTOGRAPHIC COPIES OF DEATH CERTIFICATES FROM WHICH THE
COMMISSION MAY EXTRACT THE FOLLOWING NONCONFIDENTIAL DATA
FOR USE BY RESEARCHERS AT THE HALL OF RECORDS AFTER
APPROPRIATE ORGANIZATION AND INDEXING OF THE SAME:

(1)  FULL NAME OF DECEDENT.

(2)  DECEDENT'S PLACE OF RESIDENCE.
