AN ACT concerning

Cosmetologists — Licensing Requirements

FOR the purpose of modifying the definition of beauty
culture; requiring the licensure of wig stylists and
establishing standards and fees therefor; modifying
the standards for licensure of demonstrators, senior
managers, senior teachers, and cosmeticians;
providing for certification of specialized
instructors of beauty culture; exempting certain
beauty shops from employing senior managers;
requiring teachers of beauty culture to participate
in continuing education programs; establishing
standards for certification of schools of practical
electrology; establishing requirements and cause
context for schools of beauty culture and other
specialized schools and relating generally to the
practice of beauty culture in the State of Maryland.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 529(a), 532, 549(b) and 550 of
Article 43 — Health, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement) be and they
are hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
