Article 52A — Juvenile Services

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 3-833(d) be and it is hereby
added to Article — Courts and Judicial Proceedings, of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1974 Volume) to read as
follows:

(D) ALL COURTS IN THIS STATE EXERCISING JUVENILE
JURISDICTION SHALL PROVIDE THE DEPARTMENT OF JUVENILE
SERVICES WITH INFORMATION FOR THE USE OF THAT DEPARTMENT
IN RESEARCH AMD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO IMPROVE
MEANS OF DELINQUENCY PREVENTION, CONTROL AND TREATMENT OF

JUVENILE OFFENDERS PROVIDED, HOWEVER, THAT ANY

INFORMATION SO FURNISHED SHALL NOT INCLUDE THE NAMES AND
ADDRESSES OR ANY SIMILAR DATA THAT WOULD IDENTIFY ANY
PERSON OR PERSONS. THE KINDS OF INFORMATION AND THE
MEANS OF TRANSMITTING THE INFORMATION SHALL BE DETERMINED
BY THE DEPARTMENT OF JUVENILE SERVICES UNDER REGULATIONS
ADOPTED BY THAT DEPARTMENT THAT WILL PROTECT THE
IDENTIFICATION OF ANY INDIVIDUAL.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section
8 of Article 52A — Juvenile Services, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1972 Replacement Volume and 1973
Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed and re—enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

(A) The Department shall have an office, bureau or
section for research and development to collect and
compile accurate statistics and reliable data on all
