1840                                          LAWS OF MARYLAND                        [Ch. 531

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That new
Sections 191C, 191D, and 191E be and they are hereby
added to the Public Local Laws of Queen Anne's County
being Article 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition, as amended by Chapter 191 of the
Acts of 1957) to read as follows:

Article 18

191C. THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MAY APPOINT AN
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, WHO SHALL SERVE AT THE PLEASURE
OF THE COMMISSIONERS, ASSUME THE RESPONSIBILITIES AMD
DUTIES DELEGATED TO HIM BY THE COMMISSIONERS, AND RECEIVE
THE COMPENSATION SET BY THE COMMISSIONERS.

191D. BEFORE ENTERING UPON THE DUTIES OF HIS
OFFICE, THE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT SHALL TAKE AND
SUBSCRIBE THE OATH SET FORTH IN ARTICLE I, SECTION 6 OF
THE CONSTITUTION OF MARYLAND BEFORE THE COUNTY
COMMISSIONER DESIGNATED AS PRESIDENT, AND THE OATH SHALL
BE RECORDED IN THE MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.

191E. BEFORE ENTERING UPON THE DUTIES OF HIS
OFFICE, THE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT SHALL GIVE BOND TO
THE STATE OF MARYLAND IN THE PENAL SUM OF $5,000,
CONTINGENT UPON THE FAITHFUL PERFORMANCE OF ALL DUTIES OF
HIS OFFICE AND HONEST ACCOUNTING FOR ALL MONEY THAT MAY
COME INTO HIS HANDS IN HIS OFFICIAL CAPACITY. THIS
EXPENSE SHALL BE BORNE BY THE COUNTY AND SHALL BE
RECORDED IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK OF THE CIRCUIT COURT
FOR QUEEN ANNE'S COUNTY.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1974.

Teachers' Retirement System — Credit

FOR the purpose of permitting members of the Teachers'
Retirement System to receive a certain credit for a
