Legal Holidays

FOR the purpose of making January 15 of each year, the
birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a legal
holiday, and deleting references to "Martin Luther
King Day" as a day of prayer; and correcting an
error therein.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 9 of Article 13 - Bills of
Exchange and Promissory Notes, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement) be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

Article 13 — Bills of Exchange and promissory Notes

9.

The following days in each and every year, namely
the first day of January, commonly called "New Years'
Day"; THE 15TH DAT OF JANUARY, KNOWN AS THE BIRTHDAY OF
DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR; the 12th day of February,
known as "Lincoln's Birthday"; the third Monday in
February, known as "Washington's Birthday"; the 25th day
of March known as "Maryland Day"; "Good Friday"; the
first Monday in September, commonly called "Labor Day";
the last Monday in May, commonly called "Memorial Day";
