SECTION 12. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section
5(L)(3)(i) of Chapter 179 of the Acts of 1972 are hereby

repealed and re—enacted,__with amendments, to read as

follows:

(i) To supplement____the____appropriation

"Construction of an addition to Howard Hall..." as shown
on page 1018 of the Acts of 1969, as further amended by
Chapter 101 of the Acts of 1970; Section 8 of Chapter 409

of__the Acts of 1969 and Section 3 of Chapter 101 of the

Acts of 1970 being hereby modified to the extent that
said work may begin upon satisfactory assurances to the
Board of Public Works that said project can be completed
with the aggregate of the funds herein and heretofore
appropriated for that purpose. This appropriation is
exclusive of any Federal funds; however, in accordance
with Section 9 of this Act, the using institution shall

apply__for the maximum__ Federal Grant, and should any

Federal funds become available for this project they

shall serve to__reduce this appropriation, "contingent

upon acceptance of the task force report by the Governor
and the Legislative Council concerning the adoption of
additional and innovative methods to maximize the use of
existing facilities to increase the student body of the
University of Maryland School of Medicine, especially in

the_______training_______of________general______practitioners"
