safekeeping. He shall give bond in the sum of two
thousand dollars to the State and shall be responsible
for collecting any funds of the Board, and shall also be
responsible for certifying the expenses of the members to
the State for reimbursement. All moneys collected by the
Board shall be paid over to the State Treasurer, and
shall become general funds of the State. Such moneys
shall thereafter be disbursed by the Comptroller only
pursuant to an appropriation made in accordance with §§
32 and 52 of Article 3 of the Constitution or pursuant to
the provisions of §§ 1 through 15, inclusive, of Article
15A of this Code, title "Budget and [Procurement] FISCAL
PLANNING," as amended from time to time.
(c) Each member of the Board shall receive
[twenty—five] FORTY dollars per day for each day that the
member is actually engaged in the business of the Board,
and in addition shall be reimbursed for the reasonable
expenses incurred in such business.
(d) The Board shall meet at least once each year
for the purpose of examining all applicants for licensure
under the terms of this subtitle. Notice of [such] THE
meeting shall be published in a newspaper of general
circulation in the State and a nursing journal at least
thirty days prior to the examination meeting.
[ (e) Anything in this subtitle to the contrary
notwithstanding, the licensed practical nurse members of
the Board have the power to vote upon or otherwise act
only upon matters involving practical nursing and
practical nurses.]]]

(a) An applicant for a license to practice
[professional nursing] AS A REGISTERED NURSE shall
submit to the Board written evidence, verified by oath,
or affirmation, that the applicant[[[]]:
(1) Is of good moral character.
(2) Has completed an approved high school course of
study or the equivalent thereof as determined by the
Maryland State Department of Education.
(3) Has[[] HAS]] completed the required State
approved [professional] REGISTERED nursing education
program, as defined by the Board, and for the
satisfactory completion of which holds a diploma or
degree.
(b) The applicant [shall be] IS required to pass a
written examination in [such] subjects [as] DETERMINED BY
