[[(5) Have had at least five years' successful
experience as a licensed practical nurse and have been
actively engaged in licensed practical nursing for at
least three years immediately preceding appointment or
reappointment, if a licensed practical nurse member],

(b) [At least four of the seven Board members
shall have been graduated from an accredited college with
a baccalaureate or higher degree in nursing or in
education. ] EACH REGISTERED NURSE MEMBER OF THE BOARD
SHALL:

(1)    BE LICENSED UNDER THIS SUBTITLE;

(2)    HAVE HAD AT LEAST FIVE YEARS' SUCCESSFUL
EXPERIENCE IN NURSING AND HAVE BEEN ACTIVELY ENGAGED IN
PRACTICE FOR AT LEAST THREE YEARS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING
APPOINTMENT OR REAPPOINTMENT.

(C)    EACH LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE MEMBER OF THE
BOARD SHALL:

(1)    BE LICENSED UNDER THIS SUBTITLE;

(2)    HAVE HAD AT LEAST FIVE YEARS' SUCCESSFUL
EXPERIENCE AND HAVE BEEN ACTIVELY ENGAGED IN PRACTICE FOR
AT LEAST THREE YEARS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING APPOINTMENT OR
REAPPOINTMENT.

(D)    AT LEAST FOUR OF THE FIVE REGISTERED NURSE
BOARD MEMBERS SHALL HAVE BEEN GRADUATED FROM AN
ACCREDITED COLLEGE WITH A BACCALAUREATE OR HIGHER DEGREE
IN NURSING OR IN EDUCATION.]]

(a) The Board [shall have] HAS the following
powers and duties:

(1)    [To adopt and, from time to time, revise
such rules and regulations not inconsistent with the law,
as may be necessary to enable it to carry into effect the
provisions of this subtitle] TO ADOPT AND REVISE
STANDARDS IN THE FORM OF RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR
PRACTICE AND PATIENT CARE FOR REGISTERED and licensed
practical nurses.

(2)    TO DETERMINE WHEN THE PERFORMANCE OF
ADDITIONAL ACTS UNDER EMERGENCY OR OTHER CONDITIONS
REQUIRING EDUCATION AND CLINICAL EXPERIENCE AS RECOGNIZED
BY THE MEDICAL AND NURSING PROFESSIONS, ARE PROPER TO BE
PERFORMED BY REGISTERED NURSES WITHIN SUCH CONDITIONS AS
