AN ACT concerning
Department of State Planning — State Property
FOR the purpose of providing that all State agencies
notify the Department of State Planning of any real
property which is excess to the needs of the State
agency, or of a proposed change of use of any real
property owned by the State; to provide that the
Department of State Planning examine the proper
disposition of such property and notify, as
appropriate. State agencies and local governments;
and to provide that the Department of State Planning
make recommendations to the using State agency and
to the Board of Public Works.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 12 be and it is hereby added
to Article 88C — State Planning, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement) to
read as follows:

ALL STATE AGENCIES SHALL NOTIFY THE DEPARTMENT OF
STATE PLANNING OF ANY REAL PROPERTY WHICH IS EXCESS TO
THE NEEDS OF THE STATE AGENCY, OR OF ANY [[PROPOSED]]
SUBSTANTIAL CHANGE [[OF USE]] OF ANY REAL PROPERTY OWNED
BY THE STATE. THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE PLANNING SHALL
EXAMINE THE PROPER DISPOSITION OF SUCH PROPERTY,
ASCERTAIN THE INTEREST, IF ANY, OF STATE AGENCIES AND
LOCAL GOVERNMENTS IN SUCH PROPERTY, AND SHALL HAKE
APPROPRIATE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE USING STATE AGENCY AND
TO THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS.
