AN ACT concerning
Health — Babies
FOR the purpose of requiring the Secretary of Health and
Mental Hygiene to provide a Statewide system for the
control and treatment of rabies; requiring the
Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to provide
free pre-exposure immunization and free rabies
treatment to certain persons; modifying the
provisions relating to required reports and
disposition of certain animals subject to or
suspected of having rabies; requiring persons to
vaccinate their dogs against rabies and, after a
certain date, requiring proof of vaccination before
any dog [[or dog kennel]] may be registered or
licensed; providing for the issuance of certain
vaccination certificates by licensed veterinarians;
providing for the establishment of annual, low-cost,
anti—rabies clinics in each county and the City of
Baltimore; and generally relating to the prevention,
control and treatment of rabies.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 615 and 616 of Article 43 -
Health, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971
Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement) be and they are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That new
Sections 615, 615A, 615B, 615C, 616 and 616A be and they
are hereby added to Article 43 — Health, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1973
