AN ACT concerning

Election Code — Fair Election Practices

FOR the purpose of modifying the procedures and
requirements relating to reporting contributions and
expenditures and the time and manner of the filing
election reports; making election reports the joint
and several responsibility of the treasurer and
candidate or committee chairman; modifying the
criteria as to the place of filing reports by
committees other than central and on—going
committees; providing for receipts of all reports or
statements filed with election boards; extending the
time for which treasurers and subtreasurers must
retain their account books and records; providing
that no candidate shall be declared elected, be
sworn in, take office, or receive the emoluments of
office until certification that all of his election
reports then required have been filed; extending the
time during which election boards must retain
custody of the certain reports; clarifying language
relating generally to election reports or statements
of contributions and expenditures.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,

Article 33 — Election Code, of the Annotated Code   of

Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement)   be
and they are hereby repealed and re—enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
