AN ACT concerning
Vehicle Laws — Drivers' Licenses
FOR the purpose of repealing the obsolete provisions used
to convert drivers' licenses issued prior to January
1, 1971, to the existing classified drivers' license
system; correcting certain language; and relating
generally to drivers' licenses.
BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 6-110 and 6-111.1 of Article
66—1/2 — Vehicle Laws of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1970 Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement) be and they
are hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
Article 66-1/2 - Vehicle Laws
6-110.
(a) The [Department] ADMINISTRATION shall examine
every person who applied for an original license or for a
class of license higher than the applicant has previously
held, except as otherwise provided in this article.
Such examination shall include a test of the applicant's
eyesight, his ability to read and understand highway
signs regulating, warning and directing traffic, his
knowledge of the traffic laws of this State and safe
driving practices; and shall include an actual
demonstration of ability to exercise ordinary and
reasonable control in the operation of a motor vehicle
and such further physical and mental examination as the
[Department] ADMINISTRATION finds necessary to determine
the applicant's fitness to operate a motor vehicle safely
upon the highways.
