AN ACT concerning
Fair Election Practices — Appointment of Chairman
and Treasurer by Committees, etc.
FOR the purpose of requiring State central committees,
partisan organizations and political committees to
appoint and maintain a chairman, and requiring the
filing of his name and address in certain designated
places; clarifying the language relating to the
determination of the designated places where the
names and addresses of the principal officers of
these committees and organizations are to be filed;
clarifying the requirement that all principal
officers of these committees and organizations be
registered voters; providing for the replacement, in
case of resignation, of the chairman or treasurer of
a committee or organization; and generally relating
to the provisions requiring the appointment of a
chairman and treasurer of State central committees,
partisan organizations and political committees.
BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 26-4(a) of Article 33 - Election
Code, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement
Volume and 1973 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed
and re—enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

(a) Every State central committee, partisan
organization, or political committee, as defined in §
1-1(a)(12) and 1-1(a)(14) of this article, except
